Mayor Hendrix Declares State of Emergency for Statesville


Mayor Doug Hendrix has declared a State of Emergency within the City of Statesville due to the potential impacts of Winter Storm Gianna.

Forecasts indicate the storm may bring hazardous winter weather conditions, including precipitation and ice, that could create dangerous travel conditions and impact public safety and infrastructure.

The declaration allows the City to coordinate resources, mobilize personnel, and respond quickly to protect residents, property, and essential services.

The State of Emergency took effect Friday, January 30, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. and will remain in effect through Thursday, February 5, 2026, at 5:00 p.m., unless lifted earlier.
