Summer Youth Sports & Fitness Opportunities

From team sports and summer camps to tennis, pickleball, and youth fitness programs, Statesville Recreation & Economic Vitality (REV) offers a wide variety of opportunities to help young athletes stay active, build confidence, and develop new skills this summer! Select one or all of the programs below to learn more:

Levitt AMP Statesville Music Series

The Levitt AMP Statesville Music Series continues to bring the community together through a vibrant lineup of free, family-friendly outdoor concerts held throughout the spring and fall.

Featuring a diverse mix of genres - from rock and soul to country and indie - the series showcases talented artists from across the country while creating a welcoming space for residents and visitors to connect and enjoy live music.

Hurricane Season Officially begins June 1st

The 2026 Atlantic Hurricane Season officially began on June 1 and will end on November 30, 2026. As we move into the hurricane season here in Statesville, North Carolina, it becomes crucial to prepare for potential power outages. While customers of #PublicPower in North Carolina generally experience fewer outages (39.3% less) compared to other power providers' customers, it's always wise to be ready for any unforeseen circumstances.

Celebrating 160 Years - A Juneteenth Legacy

The community is invited to come together for a celebration of freedom, culture, history, and unity at this year’s Juneteenth Statesville Celebration in Downtown Statesville on June 20, 2026 from 11a-7p.  Enjoy live entertainment, vendors, food, activities, and opportunities to connect as we honor this important moment in American history. Learn more from Juneteenth Statesville here.

Stage D3 Extreme Drought Continues; Water Restrictions still in Effect

The City of Statesville is currently under Stage 3 (Extreme Drought) conditions, as declared by the North Carolina Drought Management Advisory Council based on the latest U.S. Drought Monitor data.

As of May 4, 2026, the City will enforce water use restrictions, including fines for noncompliance, in accordance with City of Statesville Code of Ordinances and the City’s Water Shortage Response Plan, following a drought advisory and the establishment of the City’s Water Shortage Leadership Team. 

All residents and businesses are asked to comply with the current drought restrictions as we work together to protect our community’s water resources. Read more here.

🔹Landscaping/Groundskeeper - Public Grounds & Cemeteries (Seasonal): This position is responsible for a variety of construction, maintenance, and repair assignments involving the use of specialized tools and equipment.

🔹Wastewater Control Operator Trainee - 4th Creek WWTP (Full-Time): This position is responsible for learning all aspects of the operation and maintenance of the City’s wastewater treatment facilities; responsible for assisting certified wastewater control operators with duties and maintenance of the plant after successfully completing orientation and trainee instruction. This position is designed for the progressive movement into a Certified Shift Operator position; therefore, the candidate hired for this position will be the next staff member to fill an open shift when it becomes available.
